Healthy Weeknight Meals

Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

Better than Poutine

I know, what could be better that a steaming plate of fries, gravy and cheese curd? Fries, gravy, cheese curd and bacon, that’s what! Throw in some fresh shallots, chilli, and a splash of roasted bone marrow and duck gravy, and we turn this popular French-Canadian dish into a something sublime.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.

STOP BODY SHAMING

Sublime divine curves
Nourished moist lips
Sparkling novel eyes
Dark skin, stretch marks,
Like when lightning strikes
Proving your good in storms
Perfect imperfections with way too many expectations
When it’s natural creation,
but you have the passion,
To tell me that I’m too skinny,
I’m too fat,
I’m too dark,
I’m too tall,
I’m too short.
Judging a person does not define who they are , but it defines it who you are.
I’m not made in your image,
but in Gods image.
Perfect imperfections with way too many expectations,
When its not your creation,
but you want to decide on what I came in.
Curves are not for runways.
Those clothes are such a better if you’d lose some weight well wait,
Beauty is not measure in pounds but in being
I’ve seen that my pleasures are not in mystery.
I shouldn’t feel like it’s a crime being oversized
But she/he emphasized comfortability.
In my size and shaped aging in shaming myself, because I’m not ugly, we are not ugly
But society is.
Perfect imperfections with way too many expectations.
When it’s not your creation because,
Perfection is the disease of the nation.
Well to my women with the outmost respect. Intellect to not look down on yourself,
because of what society as painted you is.
Instead do not forget and neglect the fact that you are beautiful and there’s nothing wrong with you.
You just need you to learn to accept yourself.

We are all beautiful in our own ways

In a society that tells us how we look, and dress and be,
It’s easy for someone not in the loop to feel like they aren’t free
To the point it becomes difficult to even look in the mirror,
or take a picture for all to see
While inside we’re crying and screaming “why me”
Glances and comments makes ys stir and want to hide,
It’s appearance that matters
Not whats on the inside
How many hours have we spent criticizing our faces,
Our bodies, every detail that makes us unique.
UNIQUE.
A word we use to cover up the insecurities
And the word society uses to make the odd ones out
Not feel so out of place
It feels fake,
When mostly everyone we see looks and dresses the same
The most beautiful and handsome are the ones who get noticed,
It can be a pain,
To wonder why we were each given different qualities and why we can’t be like the rest.
We hear what make up is the best,
What work out routine will trim us down,
And have people bow at our feet for becoming a part of cycle
That leaves everyone becoming superficial
And in need of recognition
In need of hearing words of approval and not of removal
Pluck hair here,
Shave there,
Eliminate wrinkles,
Don’t be so short or too lopsided
Were divided.
But not between beautiful and ugly,
Not between fat and sexy,
No,
Between confident and low self-esteem
Words have a damaging affect when thrown at someone
And those words stick for a life time
It should be a crime to lash out words that hurt
But in the end that’s just the world we live in,right?
Lose or fight?
If we could just take a moment in our daiy lives to remember that we are all just specs of dust on a planet in a wide universe
Then maybe we won’t feel the need to worry so much on how we look
We are all beautiful
So beautiful and we should not let trends and society’s norms define us
We can make a fuss,
Cuss, and complain about what we don’t have
But remember,
We are who we are and that alone is beauty
Your body is normal
Its beautiful
All of the stretchmarks
All of the folds
All of the rolls.
Ugly?
What is ugly?
Perhaps a rotten soul and toxic personality
But you
Ugly?
Take a look in the mirror again
smile,
Everything about is beautiful
Embrace and live every inch of it
Because nobody will love it more than you will.

YOU ARE NOT UGLY
SOCIETY IS.
